I encountered Amora, a stray dog, in a distressing situation. Tragically, she was shot by heartless individuals, despite her friendly and trusting nature.
This was not the outcome she had anticipated. The attack left her severely injured, with a deep gash on her neck and multiple fractures in her jaw.
Bullet fragments were found in both her muzzle and skin. It’s infuriating that no one helped her when she was discovered with a life-threatening bone lodged in her stomach.
Two days later, they found a wounded dog standing in a puddle, whimpering for help. Amora’s complex wound surgery took over three hours to complete.
On the third day, she underwent a second surgery to repair her fractured bone. The procedure also included an esophagectomy and jaw reinforcement. Despite receiving numerous medications, she continued to suffer from significant pain.
To improve her blood flow, the doctor recommended regular exercise. However, we were grappling with severe pain and a serious oral infection. Despite consistent intravenous pain medication, she remained uncomfortable. We tried our best to lift her spirits with humor and encouragement, but she seemed listless and unhappy.
The temporary structure was dismantled after 30 days. Fortunately, her jaw remained stable, allowing for relatively easy movement. The veterinarian estimated that she would be able to eat again in approximately one month.
All obstacles had been overcome. We were grateful for the dedication of the veterinarians who treated her. Everyone at the clinic was amazed by her recovery.
Amora was on the brink of death, suffering immense pain. Despite her ordeal, she retained her faith in humanity. Since then, she has been showered with love and happiness.
